Quick answers
The most common questions, answered briefly.
How long does it take to register a company in Bulgaria?
The Commercial Register processes most applications within three to seven working days once the full documentation is submitted. From first contact with us to a registered, bank-ready company, our average is eleven working days. Delays almost always come from the bank's KYC process, not the registration itself.
Do I need to visit Bulgaria in person?
Not necessarily. Registration can be completed by power of attorney, which we arrange and notarise on your behalf. Bank account opening is the step that sometimes requires a physical appointment, depending on the bank. We advise on this once we understand your structure.
Can I own 100% of a Bulgarian company as a non-EU citizen?
Yes. There is no nationality restriction on company ownership in Bulgaria. A Bulgarian EOOD (single-owner LLC) can be 100% owned by a foreign national or a foreign company.
What is the minimum capital requirement?
For an EOOD or OOD, the minimum share capital is €1 (equivalent in leva at the official rate). This must be paid into the company's bank account before or during registration. There is no ongoing minimum capital requirement after that point.
Do I need a Bulgarian accountant from the start?
You are legally required to keep books in Bulgarian and to file returns with the National Revenue Agency. In practice, this means engaging a Bulgarian accountant. We can set up first-year accounting as part of the engagement, or refer you to a reliable firm if you prefer to arrange it yourself.
