The four freedoms
A Bulgarian company is an EU legal person. It can sell goods and services into every member state without an establishment there, employ EU nationals without a permit, move capital freely, and rely on the freedom of establishment to open branches elsewhere in the union. [Expand with concrete examples per freedom and the practical mechanics — VAT, posting of workers, branch registration.]
What the euro changes
Since January 2026 the entity banks, invoices, files and pays in euro. No lev conversion, no FX spread on intra-EU sales, and accounts that are directly comparable with a Western European subsidiary. [Expand: transition mechanics, contracts, historical lev peg, what it means for group treasury.]
What Schengen changes
Land borders opened in January 2025. Freight moves to Central Europe without customs stops; staff travel on one permit. [Expand: the specific corridors, the pre-2025 border-wait cost, implications for just-in-time supply.]
EU entity standing
CE marking as an established manufacturer, EU VAT and EORI numbers, access to EU funding and procurement, and standing to act as an authorised representative. [Expand each, with links to the relevant service pages.]
